Fire hazard sees recall of 34,000 portable ACs

United states: A recall has been issued on virtually 34,000 Royal Sovereign moveable air conditioners immediately after units caught fire, producing a single demise, two accidents and $1m in assets hurt.

The US Shopper Solution Security Commission (CPSC) and Royal Sovereign International Inc of Rockleigh, New Jersey, announced the recall right after studies of a faulty drain motor in the air conditioners igniting the plastic enclosure of the unit.
