United states of america: Honeywell has announced it will be offering Solstice 456A, a new reduce GWP drop-in alternative for R134a in auto air conditioning techniques.
When Honeywell can make no mention of its its chemical factors, other than it staying “HFO-based”, the gasoline is assumed to be R456A, the refrigerant blend designed and beforehand introduced by rival firm Koura.

Honeywell, which holds patents on R1234yf, the refrigerant adopted for use in all new vehicles, says that Solstice 456A will be commercially available to the European automotive aftermarket later this 12 months.
Pursuing its prosperous passage via the ASHRAE classification process, R456A was unveiled by Koura as its new lessen GWP refrigerant alternate to R134a in existing automotive air conditioning systems in the Uk and Europe in January.
R456A is a non-flammable mix of R32 (6%), R134a (45%) and R1234ze(E) (49%). It has a GWP of 626. Trials are stated to have confirmed the two its compatibility and effectiveness match with R134a in present automotive air conditioning units.
In its push release, Honeywell suggests that Solstice 456A “provides an quick-to-use, affordable, fall-in provider remedy for vehicles manufactured just before 2017”.
