ITALY: The Italian federal government is limiting the operation of air conditioners to 25ºC in all public buildings as a final result of the electrical power crisis aggravated by the war in Ukraine.
The rule, dubbed Operation Thermostat, comes into force on May 1 until finally March 31 following year in all faculties and other public properties. It does not apply to hospitals but could be prolonged to non-public houses in the future.
The regulation will be dependent on the weighted typical of the air temperatures, measured in the particular person rooms of each constructing for wintertime and summer months.
It states that the temperature have to not be reduce than 27ºC in summer months, but makes it possible for a -2ºC tolerance, or better than 19ºC in winter, with a +2ºC tolerance.
The go comes as Italy battles to obtain new resources of strength to replace the 45% of its natural gasoline which was previously imported from Russia.
