Ken Johnstone 1940-2023 – Cooling Post

Uk: Portsmouth-based air conditioning distributor Hushon (Uk) has introduced the dying on Friday of the company’s co-founder Ken Johnstone. He was 83.

Getting attained an HND in naval architecture and marine engineering throughout his apprenticeship at Portsmouth dockyard, Johnstone switched to an air conditioning occupation with Dunham Bush in 1960. He went on to function for Carrier and Trane just before forming Hushon (Uk) in 1987 in partnership with Tony Martin.

Just one of the UK’s longest set up impartial distributors, Hushon’s original focus was to distribute the Hushon branded range of medium and huge capability break up methods alongside with packaged models. Spanish manufacturer Hitecsa became the most important supplier in the late 1990s and Toshiba in 2006.

Ken Johnstone’s son Ben turned MD in 2017 pursuing the retirement of co-founder Tony Martin. Even though mainly-retired by that time, Ken Johnstone remained a director right up until his loss of life, giving suggestions when required.
