MHI Q-ton wins Japanese enviro award

JAPAN: Mitsubishi Hefty Industries’ Q-ton Circulation air-to-water warmth pump has received the Technological Development and Commercialisation category in this year’s Japanese Ministry of the Setting awards.

The Minister of the Natural environment for Climate Motion Award recognised MHI’s progress and promotion of the Q-ton Circulation, which MHI produced in conjunction with Chubu Electrical Electrical power Co.

The award was provided in the Technological Improvement and Commercialisation class in recognition of the progress and advertising of an air-resource type heat pump utilizing a refrigerant with a very low world-wide warming opportunity

Launched in 2018, the Q-ton Circulation was the industry’s initially warmth pump of its kind able of heating h2o to 75°C at an outside temperature as reduced as -20°C.

It employs R454C, an A2L decrease flammability mix of R32 and 1234yf with a GWP of 148.

The Q-ton Circulation also adopts a two-phase compression refrigeration cycle employing its proprietary high-effectiveness 3D scroll compressor

The Ministry of the Natural environment accolade is the fourth award bestowed on the Q-ton Circulation. In 2019, the new warmth pump acquired the 47th Technological know-how Award from the Japan Society of Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (JSRAE). In 2021, it received the Excellence Award in the Refurbishment Tools category of the 38th Great Power Preserving Tools Awards of the Japan Affiliation of Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Contractors (JARAC), and also the Award for Excellence at the 24th Ozone Layer Defense and World Warming Prevention Commendations sponsored by the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun newspaper.
