Mitsubishi invests $113m to boost production in Turkey


TURKEY: Mitsubishi Electric is to devote about US$113m in a even more enlargement of its air conditioning producing facility in Turkey.

The expansion of the facility in Manisa will expand once-a-year potential for air-to-h2o heat pumps to 300,000 models, up by 100,000 models from existing capability, and room air conditioners to 1,100,000 units, up by 300,000 models. Production will start in February 2024.

On Wednesday, rival Japanese air conditioning company Daikin announced a €13m financial investment in its Turkish factory to begin generation of VRF air conditioning systems for the Turkish and Middle Japanese sector. 

Mitsubishi Electric recognized its Turkish subsidiary in 2016, commencing output from the factory in Manisa – just inland from the Aegean Sea port of Izmir – at the end of 2017. Just last 12 months, the corporation announced a US$18m financial commitment to commence warmth pump manufacturing and enhance air conditioner output at the manufacturing facility.
