SLOVENIA: Peter Novak, electrical power pro, former VP of REHVA and an eminent member of the Slovenian Society for Heating, Refrigerating and Air-conditioning Engineers, has died at the age of 85.
Professor for HVAC, renewable electricity and setting and dean at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, he was also the honorary president of the Slovenian Photo voltaic Vitality Affiliation.
The Affiliation of Mechanical Engineers of Slovenia awarded him the Lifetime Accomplishment Award in 2011. He has been a member of the Council for Environmental Safety for more than twelve a long time, chairman of the Climate Fee and a member of the Scientific Council of the Global Institute of Refrigeration IIR, vice-president of the Scientific Council at the European Natural environment Agency and an honorary member of ASHRAE.
He was vice-president of REHVA, the Federation of European Heating, Air flow and Air Conditioning Associations, from 1999 to 2008, and a REHVA Gold Medal recipient in 2010.
