PFAS consultation opens – Cooling Post


FINLAND: The 6-month on line session on the proposed PFAS restriction is now open for any person with facts on the substances to have their say.

The restriction proposals tabled by the Danish, German, Dutch, Norwegian and Swedish authorities, and laid in advance of the European Chemicals Company (ECHA) in January, could see the banning of pretty much all new and recent decreased GWP HFC/HFO refrigerant blends. 

The consultation is to give anyone with facts on PFAS the option to have their say. Of unique curiosity is info suitable to the threats, socio-financial facets, and substitute substances. ECHA’s scientific committees for risk assessment (RAC) and for socio-financial assessment (SEAC) will use the consultation input to appraise the proposed restriction and to variety an opinion on it.

Online session

The ECHA will also host an online facts session on 5 April from 11:00 to 13:00 Helsinki time. For the duration of the session, specialists from ECHA and the 5 national authorities will reveal the restriction system, the information of the proposal and how to participate in the session.
