British isles: Roger Borer, former treasurer of the Institute of Refrigeration, has been named as this year’s winner of the Alan Moor Award.
The award, declared at last night’s ACR News Awards in front of 200 guests at London’s Chelsea Harbour Hotel, recognised Borer’s in close proximity to 50 many years in the refrigeration sector.
Becoming a member of Sainsbury’s in 1968, Borer went on to regulate the retailer’s refrigeration specifications, true estate and wider amenities in a profession spanning about 30 years. He took up the unpaid, honorary part of treasurer of the IoR in 2004, stepping down in 2017 to grow to be executive officer of the Creating Controls Sector Association, prior to lastly retiring previous year.
The Institute of Refrigeration was itself prosperous at the awards, winning Environmental Initiative of the 12 months for its Past Refrigeration undertaking to guide people of cooling machines in the direction of internet zero heating and cooling.
