Sharp plans air conditioning factory in Indonesia


INDONESIA: Japanese air conditioning company Sharp is to construct a new JPY4bn ($35m) air conditioner manufacturing unit in Indonesia

The new manufacturing unit will be based mostly in Karawang Industrial Park, Karawang Regency, where PT Sharp Electronics Indonesia, a manufacturing and gross sales business in Jakarta, is positioned. With a output capability of 900,000 models/12 months, the factory is scheduled to start off operations in April 2023 giving Indonesia and other ASEAN nations around the world.

A solar power generation process with a ability of about 2MW will be set up on the roof of the factory.
